Our lively, noisy and fun Sunday School for children at St John’s is called ‘Sunday Seekers’ where we have activities and teaching suitable for our 3 separate age groups:

Sparklers – the 3s-5s (pre-school to reception) have their own exciting group where the children hear a Bible story, sing, play percussion instruments and have games and crafts.  Our experienced Sparklers’ leader, Liz, is a qualified pre-school teacher and provides a colourful, stimulating environment for our little ones.  Liz’s co-leader, Rachel, is a recent graduate who is about to begin teacher training.

Fireworks – the 5s-7s (school years 1 & 2) are true to their name - a lively group of children who enjoy games, quizzes, drama, crafts and challenges that support the week’s Bible story.  Fireworks are led by Kate, the overall Sunday Seekers’ Coordinator, and Cassie who is currently training to be a primary school teacher.

Rockets are our oldest children (school years 3-6) and are led by Alec Ham, one of our ministry trainees, and his wife Leah who is a primary school teacher.  Rockets are divided in the two groups (younger and older) and Alec and Leah are ably assisted by Katie (who is also a teacher), Ros (an experienced childminder) and Jonny who is a 6th form student at Wilmslow High School.

Sunday Seekers meet every Sunday during term time (apart from the 2nd Sunday each month when we all stay in church for a lively, all-ages together service).

Sunday Seekers start out in church every week at 10 am, moving over to their own groups in the church rooms at around 10.20 am.   We walk back to church at 11.30 am where parents are already enjoying a coffee and chat.  Parents who need to rush away, simply pick up their children from the church rooms at 11.25 pm.

Don’t worry if your children are younger than 3 or older than 11 – we have a crèche and different youth groups on Sunday and mid-week too. 
    
If you would like your children to join in the St John’s nativity presentation, we will be doing a ‘Nativity from Scratch’ during the weekend of 18th and 19th December.  We will be rehearsing on the afternoon of 18th December in the church rooms and putting on our production in church at 10 am on Sunday 19th December after which the children will be having a Christmas party!
