Our Work with 14-18 year olds

To fulfil our purpose and mission , we will provide for the 14-16 year olds:

For Bringing in:

Twice yearly outreach event.
Beyond Belief as a follow up course for interested members and enquirers.

For Building Up:

CHAOS07/WhatIf? on a Wednesday Evening.
Sunday Evening Gathering, inc. T.O.A.S.T.(social time).
Monthly Social Trips and Activities.
An annual Weekend Away together.
Summer Ventures – Maidwell 1
Regional And National Youth Conferences.

For Sending Out:

Training experiences, e.g. Sunday Clubs work experience.
Midweek Discipleship training.
Training in telling people about Jesus, and standing for their own faith.
Service opportunities in the church programme

And for 16-18 yr olds

Casterton Youth Leadership Programme.

Activities

WhatIf? , Wednesday 7 – 8.30PM.

This is our main Bible study for 14-16 yr olds, run by George, Athea and Nathan. We cover a variety of topics, always having a book of the term and looking at the Bible in some depth. We have recently finished a series on the Bible book of Daniel. This is a Bible study meeting for all those who are interested in finding out more from the Bible and deepening their faith. It is interactive and highly challenging.

TOAST 14-18s, Sunday 8- 9.30PM.

This is our main social time for 14-18 year olds, run on a sunday evening. TOAST runs on a Sunday evening, after the main evening gathering. It is a social time for older young people who just want to spend some time together chatting and playing some silly games. We play Orange jousting, mini-olympics and the Big Pants Challenge, or Speed Sardines; but most of all we just sit around and have some tuck and chill out.

Socials and trips

We run a regular programme of socials for the 14-18 year olds. Every year we walk down to a local Home for Elderly People and sing some carols and share a cup of tea. Come back soon to find out more about upcoming events.
Our main weekend away is to the Lakes in September. Watch this space for more details.

Jolly Jaunt to Wales, Year 11 and Year 13, June.

Each year our GCSE and A2 candidates take a cheap 3 day trip to Wales to chill. Staying in a caravan out of reach of TV and mobile signals we generally veg, go swimming in the sea, or the local river and eat Honey Ice Cream [ http://www.halofoods.co.uk/ ] Last year we had full summer sun for two days and enjyed chucking ourselves in the rivers. This year it rained but that has not stopped us having a fantastic time. We start booking with year 11 and 13s mid exams in May/June.
